Banh Mi is a type of Vietnamese sandwich that typically consists of a crusty French baguette filled with a variety of savory ingredients. The sandwich usually includes thinly sliced grilled or roasted meat (such as pork, chicken, or beef), fresh vegetables (such as cucumbers, carrots, and cilantro), and a spread or sauce (such as mayonnaise, pâté, or chili sauce).
Banh Mi is often served as a street food in Vietnam and has become popular in many other parts of the world as well, thanks to its delicious and unique flavor combination. The sandwich is known for its fusion of French and Vietnamese flavors, as it was originally inspired by the French baguette and was later adapted to include Vietnamese ingredients and spices.

Food

Jen and I came here on an ordinary Saturday afternoon. The spot was tucked away in a corner and was not busy when we arrived. Ten minutes later, there was somehow a large line waiting to order so it looks like we got lucky. During our visit, Jen and I both opted for the Pork Combination which included a pork pate, Vietnamese ham, and thinly sliced pork. There was also carrots, cucumber, red onions(rather odd), and mayo on our toasted French baguette. The sandwich was solid and the cured meats were flavorful but the pate tasted a little bland compare to other variations. Overall, the sandwich was solid and delicious!
I also had a Thai tea which was very middle of the pack. The drink was sweet but missing a lot of tea flavor. I kind of like a more intense tea flavor, but none the less, the drink was solid.
Overall the food was good but unspectacular. Would I come here again? Most definitely as the prices aren’t bad especially with many places starting to charge over $10 for the same sandwich.
Final Thoughts
If you’re in the Outer Sunset Area in San Francisco, give Bahn Mi Love a try. Their sandwiches are solid and while the location is tucked away in a small area next to a bustling mall, parking shouldn’t be an issue.
