10. Carmel Valley Ranch, Unbound Collection by Hyatt

One of my favorite Hyatt properties, Carmel Valley Ranch is a retreat like property located in Carmel Valley, about 10 minutes from Carmel by the Sea. The property is also a short drive from Monterey. Carmel Valley Ranch offers a retreat like feel with personalized service and a great place to wind down.

This property may not be on many lists, but after treating my parents to a stay at this property using Hyatt’s Guest of Honor, I was genuinely impressed. The complimentary breakfast for Hyatt Globalist is exceptional. This property eloquently combines the city’s old feel with modern design.

Kauai is the fourth larges island in Hawaii. IT is often the forgotten island as most travelers tend to visit Oahu or Maui. This island is lush, with most of the island covered in tropical rainforest. Located on the Southern tip of the island, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is a sprawling beach front resorts that perfect for couples and families.

5. Park Hyatt New York

Some people might have this property higher on their list, but New York doesn’t spell glamour like the old days. Regardless, the Park Hyatt New York is still one of the best Hyatt properties situated in the heart of New York. This property is in category 8 with nights costing a whopping 35,000-45,000 points.

Property Category: 8

Points Cost:35,000 – 45,000

4. Hana-Maui Resort

One of the properties on my bucket list, I hope to travel to Maui with Jen in the near future. Having traveled to Hawaii numerous times, I’ve never actually been to Maui. Jen and I have traveled to Oahu multiple times together, while I also had a short trip with my parents to Kona(big island). The Hana-Maui Resort is located East of the Hana Forest Reserve and ways from either airport on the Island. Because of its location, it is suggested to rent a car at the airport or schedule a ride in advance as it may be difficult to find an Uber or Lyft upon arrival. The resort looks spectacular and you’re a short walk from the fame Hana Bay Beach (Black Sand Beach).

Points Cost: 25,000 – 35,000

3. Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort

One of most luxurious properties in Maui, the Andaz Maui opened its door in 2013 and continues to offer travelers a one of kind luxury experience in Wailea. The property is situated in Wailea next to other top tier properties such as the Grand Wailea A Waldorf Astoria Resort. This property in category 8 and can cost you up to 45,000 points per night. While this property is splendid, Maui is a great place to explore, hike, visit beaches, leaving little time for resort activities. I’m not sure this property suits Jen and I, but if I had a huge stash of Hyatt points (I currently spend most of mine) I would definitely consider this spot.

Points Cost:35,000 – 45,000

2.Alila Napa Valley

Jen and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at this property in April 2022. We booked our two night stay using a category 1-7 certificate and 30,000 points back when the property was still in category 7. The Alila Napa Valley takes the number 2 spot in our Top 10 Hyatt Hotels in the United States due to its elegant design, excellent service, and just overall wonderful ambiance. The room we had was simply amazing and the service was the best I’ve ever had. When our room wasn’t ready right at 4pm, the manager came outside and asked if we wanted any bites on the house. While I’m not one to be bothered by a short delay, the small gestures made by the staff went a long way. Overall, this is one of my favorite properties of all time and the stone bathrooms were a thing of beauty.

1.Alila Ventana Big Sur

, True Luxury, the Alila Ventana Big Sur photo by Hyatt

The crown jewel of Hyatt Properties in the United States, everyone raves about the Alila Ventana Big Sur. Located on the beautiful Californian coast, this is one of the most exclusive properties in Hyatt’s portfolio. Award nights(if they can be found) range from 35,000-45,000 points per night. Standard rates are absurd and nights can run you over $3,000 per night for a base room.
