Hyatt Regency London Stratford: Full Review!

London has a variety of award options for Hyatt beginning at 5,000 points. The majority of Hyatt properties that sit near Central London along the river typically cost a small points fortune. Many hotels in this popular tourist zone sit at Category 5 and above with little to no last minute award space. The Hyatt Regency London Stratford is one of the few affordable Hyatt hotels that sit quick metro ride from Central London. Here’s the full review!

Location

Hyatt Regency London Stratford is located in one of London’s best-connected and fastest-growing neighborhoods, making it an excellent base for both leisure and business travelers. Set directly beside Westfield Stratford City, the hotel is surrounded by hundreds of shops, restaurants, cafés, and entertainment options, while Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London Stadium, and expansive green spaces are all within easy walking distance. The area’s biggest advantage is transport: Stratford is a major hub served by the Central and Jubilee Underground lines, London Overground, National Rail, and the Elizabeth Line, allowing guests to reach Oxford Circus, Westminster, Canary Wharf, and Liverpool Street in roughly 20–25 minutes, and Heathrow Airport in under an hour. The neighborhood blends modern regeneration with everyday convenience, offering a lively yet practical alternative to staying in central London.

Directions from Stratford Station:
Exit Stratford Station following signs for Westfield Stratford City. Walk straight into the shopping center and continue toward the Westfield Avenue / Olympic Park exit. Once outside, the Hyatt Regency London Stratford is clearly signed and located just a short walk away, adjacent to the Westfield complex. From the station entrance, the walk typically takes 3–5 minutes, making arrival with luggage quick and hassle-free.

Booking

I booked 2 nights at 12,000 points per night for a total of 24,000 points. I also applied one of my suite upgrade certificates and confirmed an upgrade to a standard regency suite room.

Booking category 3 Hyatt Regency properties can be a very good deal especially if cash rates are over $200 per night. You can also use Hyatt Category 1-4 certificates at this property where room rates hover around $200 USD a night. I think this can be a decent use of the certificate.

Room

Standard Suite

The regency suite was on the smaller side sitting at a mere 409 sq ft compared to other suites that are upwards of 800 sq ft. The room had a small living room with a small couch, a mini table with one chair, and the coffee station. The bedroom was also on the smaller side. The bathroom was the highlight of the room as it was modern with several mirrors, a marble top, and both a large soaking tub and rainfall shower.

Suite Living Room

The regency suite can comfortably accommodate up to 3 guest if one person sleeps on the couch. Anything beyond that borders into over crowding. The room did offer an interesting view to the shopping center below.

Food

The property was on the smaller side, but did have a solid breakfast buffet option. As a Hyatt Globalist, I received complimentary breakfast daily. This is one of the best elite perks and has helped me save thousands of dollars traveling over the last 5 years. The buffet is held at the Elondi Restaurant, which also offers a wide variety of food options throughout the day. For the most part, the breakfast buffet is what you would typically expect along with the option to order eggs.

The hotel also has a small bar. Being a smaller Hyatt Regency, the space was fairly limited but could be a nice place to enjoy an evening drink.

Amenities

The hotel had a small gym with a couple of weight machines and several cardio machines including a pair of treadmills. The gym also had dumbbells up to 50lbs. The gym is open 24 hours and I was able to get an early morning workout at 5am due to my intense jet lag.

Since the hotel sits on top of a mall, parking was not easily accessible. I did not have a car so it was not an issue.

Final Thoughts

The Hyatt Regency London Stratford is a great Hyatt hotel for those on a budget. Costing anywhere from 9,000 to 15,000 points, this is easily one of the better award deals in London. The property is easily accessible from London Heathrow Airport, while also provide easy access to many tourist attractions in the city. The hotel itself is modern and chic, sitting a mere minutes away from Westfield Stratford and the train station. The hotel is solid but on the smaller side. For those traveling in a large group, a suite may not fit more than 3-4 people.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. At this rate, I could definitely envision coming back!
