The Club SFO Lounge Review: Luxe and Swanky

The Club, a priority pass lounge recently opened up in San Francisco Airport’s Terminal 1. The Club operates a solid network of lounges with “over 20 locations across North America, The UK & Hong Kong”. My prior experiences at other locations have yielded mixed results, but The Club SFO is redfining that notion. From the luxe interior to the tranquil design of the bar, this lounge is one the best lounges in the domestic portion of SFO Airport.

The Club is accessible via Priority Pass. Single uses passes can also be had for $75, which I find to be an insanely poor value deal. I would never pay $75 for an hour in an airport lounge especially for a priority pass one.

The following credit cards offer complimentary Priority Pass:

I personally think that Capital One Venture X Card is one of the best beginner credit cards. See my full guide on the best starter credit cards for earning miles and points.

Location

The Club SFO is located right after security in Terminal 1. The terminal is primarily home to American Airlines, SouthWest, and Alaska Airlines. Alaska recently moved over from Terminal 2 and set up their lounge a few hundred feet next to The Club.

The club has a lobby on the lower level with the actual lounge a floor above. The lounge is fully enclosed which I prefer( Seattle Airport’s Amex Lounge is on the Mezzanine and can get really loud).

Food

The Club served a nice spread of lite bites which was a tick above what you would normally at United Club or American Admirals lounge. I think Delta does a really good job with their food offerings in their standard lounges. During our visit, Jen and I got into the lounge about an hour before closing so food options were fairly limited. There was a coconut curry option along with a small selections of bread and cheese. Drinks were on par with what you would normally expect. There was a small selection of coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

Amenities

The Club has shower suites available, but costs $25 for a 30 minute time slot. Some locations offer free showers, but I think the San Francisco location does not offer complimentary showers. Additionally, members can also checkout wellness rooms on a first come first serve basis. By the time I arrived and attempted to book a room, all were gone for the remainder of the evening. I didn’t get a chance to try any of the main amenities, but the bathroom facilities were modern and well maintained.

Final Thoughts

The Club SFO is easily one of the better locations in The Club’s network of lounges. In contrast to some of their locations which I have visited, this new lounge is modern with solid food offerings. The Club is also eloquently decorated with a wonderful ambiance that makes every visitor feel relaxed. Overall, this lounge is very solid for a Priority Pass Lounge and I’ll definitely be coming back in the near future.
