During my most recent trip to Uganda, I had a one day stopover in London to visit family and do a bit of exploring. I’m in London semi-frequently these days, but having an early 7am flight the next morning, I decided to book one night at the Hyatt Place London Heathrow. I’ve heard a mixed bag of reviews, but overall I thought this property was a tad better than most Hyatt Place properties that I’ve visited.
Note: The public bus stop in front of the hotels takes you to the airport in under 10 minutes making this a great place to stay if you have an early morning flight. Buses begin running before 5am.
I was pretty jet lagged and forgot to take good photos, so images in this post are official photos from Hyatt Brand.

Booking
This is a category 2 property, but daily rates here are often insanely cheap. About 8 months in advance, rates were only $85 dollars a night or anywhere from 6,500 to 9,500 points depending on the time of year. The cash rate was insanely cheap and factoring in the $50 semi-annual statement credit from my World of Hyatt Business Credit Card, I ended up only paying under $50 out of pocket for the stay.
The Room
With the lone exception being the bathroom, the room looked fashionably modern and something I would expect from a more luxe Hyatt line such as the Regency or Grand Hyatt. The furniture looked modern. The bathroom was a tad dated, but everything else was fantastic. The room was on the smaller side, but definitely felt a step above what Hyatt Place properties tend to offer. I was thoroughly impressed.

Amenities
Jen and I were out venturing the city and didn’t get a chance to try out the gym. The next morning, we had to catch a 6:30am flight to Brussels in order to make a connection to Uganda. As a result, we missed complimentary breakfast and any opportunity to use the hotel’s fitness facilities.
Final Thoughts
If passing by, I think the Hyatt Place London Heathrow is a fantastic option. It’s a very budget friendly hotel for those looking to venture around London for a day. The property might look dated and old on the outside, but the interior is fantastic and the rooms are modern. If you’re looking for a cheap points hotel near the airport, I would definitely recommend checking out this property. Have you stayed here before? Let me know your thoughts.
