Review: Hilton’s Harbor Club St. Lucia

**This Review was a delayed and my stay happened a few months ago**

Saint Lucia is a wonderful Island in the Caribbean that was once a formerly owned by the British. This is clearly evident in their road design, as well the style of their signs. The people here are pretty friendly and Island time is clearly evident.

Sitting on the Northern Tip of the Island is the Harbor Club St. Lucia, a boutique hotel under Hilton’s Curio collection. The property is roughly an hour and a half from the airport and sits near beautiful Rodney Bay. I had a blast visiting the Island and staying at the property so here’s the full review.

Booking

I had a large stash on Hilton points and wanted to burn some for this trip. When deciding on a destination, the ability to use 200,000 Hilton points for 4 nights plus a fifth night free (this brings down the cost to only 40,000 points per night) was a steal. I haven’t used my Hilton points in some time and this was a great opportunity to get some value for them.

Location

As previously mentioned, getting to the hotel from the airport is a bit of a journey. For about $65 I was able to book a van transfer that took over 3 hours as we ran into a lot traffic on the Island Capital of Castries. The hotel is situated near Rodney Bay and on the main road in the area. This makes it a bit noisier than I would like it at night if you have a room facing the road. On the back of the building, you get unobstructed views of the Marina.

Room

Hilton Diamond status is one of my least favorite top tier elite status as the perks are middle pack. I earned Hilton Diamond a few years back through spending on my American Express Hilton Business Credit Card and it expired after the trip. My friend and I were booked into a large king room which had ample space and a balcony. Each room contained an espresso machine which was a nice touch. The decor and bed were both modern.

Amenities

The best part of this property was the full on gym on the 2nd floor. Most hotel gyms may have a few machines, dumbbells up to 50lbs, and a small selection of cardio machines. At the Harbor Club St. Lucia, there is adequate equipment for powerlifting including a power rack, trap bars, a variety of weight plates, and dumbbells up to 120lbs. The massive selection of training machines was also eye opening. Overall, this gym packed enough equipment to be on the cusp of opening a commercial gym.

Food

I ate at the property daily for complimentary breakfast and then a few other times for dinner. The property has several dining options including a sushi bar, a pizza and pasta spot, and a sit down evening dining spot. Food on the property was priced reasonably with pizzas coming out to 12 dollars each and pina coladas for under $11.

Overall

For 40,000 Hilton points per night, I thought this was a fantastic deal. From the solid infinity pools, to the majestic sunset views, I had a wonderful time at this property. In addition, I also ran into one of the investor group’s executive members at the gym. He was in town to do a check up on the property and we ended chatting for some time. The food on the property wasn’t outrageous when compared to U.S. prices. I think I could definitely come back to this property some time in the future.
