Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Review: Modern with a Stunning View

Having a couple days to explore Boston, Jen and I stayed in the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor for two nights. The hotels is stunning and overlooks….. you guessed it Boston Harbor and is located a short complimentary shuttle ride away from Boston Logan Airport. The hotel sits in a splendid area and is also located right next to public ferry which takes you across the bay. Here’s my full review!

View from Our High Floor King Room in Boston

During the weekend I planned on staying, room rates were hovering above $300 per night. As a category 4 property, you can also book award nights around 15,000 point depending on peak/off peak. Luckily, I had a pair of free nights category 1-4 certificates that I was able to use for this staying saving me roughly $700 or around 30,000 points. This is one of the many ways you can get outsized value for Hyatt free night certificates.

Room

We were upgraded from a base from to an high floor king room with a spectacular view of the bay. From our room, I could see across the bay to Boston Harbor and the adjacent docks. During the night, it was a splendid view of the bay and the dimly lit skyline.

While our room was a standard king room, the room felt larger than some of the other king rooms I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was modern and we also had a coffee machine at our disposal.

Food

As in all of my Hyatt stays, my Hyatt Globalist Status gets us free breakfast. At this property, you have a couple of options. You can either do the breakfast buffet at the restaurant or the a la carte option. Seeing the spread, Jen and I decided to go for the a la carte option. I had a lobster eggs benedict, while Jen had eggs, sausages, and hashbrowns. We also shared a fruit platter and a hearty plate of French toast.

Amenities

Jen and I took advantage of the gym and got a couple of daily workouts in. The gym was small but had several cardio machines with a great view of the bay. There was also dumbells up to 50 pounds which was enough for a light lift. With a small selection of equipment for a larger sized hotel, the I could see the gym getting packed.

In addition to the restaurant, there is also an outdoor patio for drinks. The patio faces Boston Harbor and would be a wonderful place for evening cocktails. During the summer, Boston gets pretty hot and the lack of shade makes the patio unusable until the later portion of the Afternoon.

Final Thoughts

The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor is solid property located near Boston Logan Airport. The hotel operates a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport that run at least every hour. The hotel is located on the island that houses the airport, offering a spectacular view of the Boston Bay.

Getting to the other side of Boston Harbor can be a bit pricey. A round trip 10 minute boat ride could run you almost $20 per person and food options around the hotel are very limited.
