Qatar’s Al Mourjan Business Lounge: Everything You Want and More

Qatar Airways’ Al Mourjan Business Lounge in Doha is one of the best business class lounges in the world. This lounge spans over 110,000 feet with multiple dining areas, large showering facilities, various napping areas, and unobstructed views of Qatar jets. This lounge boasts a wide selection of food and some of the friendliest staff I have ever met.

Access

This lounge is available to Qatar Airways Business Class Passengers with the exclusion of business light fares. In addition the lounge does not offer access to Oneworld Elites without a qualifying business class ticket. With the mentioned policies, this business lounge was indeed meant for premium passengers and helped keep the foot traffic to a minimum.

The lounge does tend to get crowed around midnight as Qatar Airways operates a bunch of flights in the wee hours of the morning. My flight from Doha to London Heathrow was at 2:45am.

Location

This magnificent lounge is located above the concourse near the A gates. Escalators can be found opposite of the luxury shopping wing. If you’re having trouble finding this lounge, there are plenty of signs throughout the airport and there is also a Qatar Airways staff member at the bottom of the escalators to assist and verify your access.

The Lounge

Dare I say it, The Al Mourjan Lounge is probably the best business class lounge I have ever visited. The Cathay Lounges found in Hong Kong were fantastic and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse in London Heathrow was impressive, but Qatar’s Al Mourjan simply blows out the competition. The elegant design and the enormous size of the lounge creates a vibe like no other.

The Game Room at the Lounge has the latest consoles

The lounge has everything to offer from napping pods, showers, a large business centers with a variety of Macs and Windows computers available. This lounge also has two separate dining areas: an express dining room on one end for quick bites and lite snacking to a full service dining rooms upstairs that includes a sushi bar and a nice collection of Asian, Middle Eastern, and Western options.

To cap it off, there is also a tranquil pool that offers a serene relaxing rhythmic sounds of water droplets.

Food

I didn’t try everything, but I did place an order at the sushi bar and also had a bowl of Paneer Tikka Masala with a side of Daal. I also sampled a few cheeses including the feta.

Freshly made sushi was delicious

Everything was delicious. The staff was very attentive and helpful. For a la carte orders, the food came within ten minutes and the sushi was fresh and tasty, while the hot dishes were also nice and hot. The quality of the food was impressive and even a notch above some of the best lounges I’ve ever visited such as the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse or the Cathay Pacific “The Pier”.

Paneer Tikka with some Daal was delicious
plating was also impeccable at the small bites area

My Thoughts

The Al Mourjan lounge is one of the best lounges I have been and really puts the cherry on top for my Qatar Qsuite Experience. I had to spend about 6 hours in this lounge and time went by in a blink of an eye. I actually wished I had more time to enjoy the lounge as I was working on a few projects and didn’t get a chance to try some Karak Chai. If you’re in Doha, this is definitely the lounge you want to check out. Have you been to the Al Mourjan Lounge? Let me know how your visit went!
